Questions

Good to know.

Answers to the questions UK businesses ask us most. Can't see yours? Call us on +44 20 3807 4898.

Real people. No AI.

Every call is answered by a trained receptionist in your business name. No bots, no automated menus, no call-centre scripts.

Real people, not AI

Will a real person answer my calls?

Yes, every time. Every call is answered by a trained receptionist. We do not use AI receptionists, voice bots, automated menus or recorded greetings.

Do you use AI anywhere in the service?

No. A person answers the call, a person writes the message and a person makes the booking. We do not use AI tools in our service, including transcription, and we do not put your callers' details into AI tools.

The only exception is if you specifically ask for transcription-based reporting, such as a sentiment rating for each call. We only switch that on for you, with your written agreement.

Who are your receptionists?

A friendly team based in Cape Town, South Africa. They are our own team, trained on your business before they take a single call, and we have been answering calls for small businesses for six years.

Will my callers know you're not in my office?

We answer in your business name and follow your instructions. Callers hear a warm, professional receptionist who knows how your business works.

Do your receptionists speak clear English?

Yes. English is the language of business in South Africa, and our team speaks clear, friendly English that UK callers understand easily.

Hours and how it works

What hours do you cover?

Monday to Friday, 6am to 9pm UK time. Saturday and Sunday, 7am to 9pm UK time.

Why are your receptionists in Cape Town?

Cape Town is one or two hours ahead of the UK, depending on the time of year. Our team covers UK hours during their normal working day, not a night shift, so you get people who are awake and focused.

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes. You divert your existing number to us, all the time or only when you can't answer. If you'd rather have a new UK number, we can set one up for you.

Do I have to send you all my calls?

No. Many clients use us for overflow only: when the line is busy, after a few rings, or outside office hours.

What can your receptionists do for me?

Answer in your business name, put callers through to you, take detailed messages, book appointments into your diary, ask your questions on new enquiries, and make confirmation and payment reminder calls.

Can you book straight into my booking system or CRM?

Yes. You give us our own login to your booking system, diary, CRM or helpdesk, and we work in it just like a member of your team.

How do I get my messages?

By email, as soon as the call ends. Each message has the caller's name, number, what they need and what happens next.

How do I get started?

Book a 15-minute call. We learn about your business and callers, set up your greeting and instructions, and then you divert your calls to us.

Pricing

How much does it cost?

£65 a month for 100 minutes of live answering. That is 65p a minute.

How are calls billed?

By the second. We never round a call up to the next minute, so a 40-second call costs 40 seconds.

What if I use more than 100 minutes?

For customers on the 100 minutes package, extra minutes are 65p each. During our initial onboarding we ensure that your monthly package is correct for the expected volume which may result in a lower per minute rate.

Do spam or wrong-number calls count?

Yes. Every call we answer counts towards your minutes, because a receptionist still has to pick it up. Your itemised call log shows every call and how long it lasted.

Is there a contract?

No long contract. It is month to month with 30 days' notice.

Your data and privacy

Where is my customers' information stored?

In your own systems. We work inside your booking system, CRM or helpdesk using logins you give us, so your customers' details stay in your systems and your privacy policy covers them. We do not copy them into ours.

Can you log calls on a form for me?

Yes. We recommend you set the form up in your own Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace account, or in your own CRM. Our receptionists fill it in for every call, and the answers go straight into your systems, not ours.

Do you keep any of my customers' data?

Very little. We keep a call log for 1 year so we can bill you and show you every call, and copies of message emails for 2 years. If you switch on call recording, recordings are kept for as long as you choose. We only store anything else if you ask us to in writing, and then we agree a data plan with you.

Are you UK GDPR compliant?

Yes. We act as your data processor and sign a data processing agreement with you. Because our team is in South Africa, the agreement includes the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement, so your data has the protection UK law requires.

Is this suitable for solicitors, clinics and accountants?

Yes. Every receptionist signs a confidentiality agreement, uses their own login and only sees what they need for your business. You can switch off our access at any time.

Do you record calls?

Only if you want us to. Call recording is optional, and you can switch it on or off at any time.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You switch off our logins and we confirm in writing that we hold none of your customers' data. If we kept anything for you under a data plan, we delete it.
